Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I could probably argue 4.5 stars...I really like this place! Now understand, this is coming from someone who enjoys atmosphere almost as much as (and sometimes more than) the food, depending on my mood. That being said, I love the look and feel of this place, in spite of its off-beat location a mile or two North of Las Olas on Federal. The indoor / outdoor design works really well...and the furniture, art, walls, floors and bar top are hip...like West Elm, but more designer. As to the food and beverage (I never consider one without the other, by the way ;-) ), it was very good! Small plates, modern takes on Italian / Mediterranean classics, from pizza to octopus...they know what they're doing with a wood oven. They also have a very nice selection of wine by the glass, which I greatly appreciate! I have a feeling this will become a regular spot...has that feel like you can go once or twice a week and enjoy it every time.

Tapas as a definition should be small plates at a fairly small price depending on the item. well they came through on the small plates, but not the small price...to me it takes the fun out of tapas. zucchini flowers need alot of work- they come 4 per order $10 and 1 of them there was no cheese in the middle cause it burst out in the fryer, when i asked about it the waitress said lets just order another order and i still had to pay for both.? also it needed salt badly as well as the polenta was lacking in flavor big time. 6 items on cheese and meat board for $30 is way overpriced for the portiion size...there was about $5 worth of food on the board. pizza was real good as expected from a wood fire oven. artichokes where not cooked enough per there description. Chef needs to step it up in the kitchen and work on flavors and the little extras. we ordered a bunch of stuff to try and overall we enjoyed the meal. Decor was real nice but out service was below average our waitress hardly understood the food and us apparently as she didnt wrap out left overs as we had asked. i had to had her dishes to clear numerous times, ask for water, bread, change out our tapas plates so we can have our pizza on a clean plate. we tipped her 75 dollars for a party of 6 20% and she didn't even say goodbye or thanks for coming in. i would definitely go back, but not without choosing my server and choosing the tapas wisely.

For those of you that have read my reviews, you'll know that I'm very, very, critical, to the point of, as my wife says, "assholiness." So it should come as a big surprise and with a lot of credibility when i write that D'Angelo's Pizza is spectacular. This is Angelo Elia and we should not expect less. Casa D'Angelo is great and his new concept is far different and we've been hopeful for a while. My wife and I were fortunate to be asked to a pre-opening trial meal. Located on Federal Highway next to two horrible places, Jack's Hamburgers and some Mexican joint, D'Angelo's interior is modern and minimal, yet it develops a feeling of warmth that surprises. The menu has tapas, ceviches, pizzas, salads, foccacias, and deserts. We tried the calamari and shrimp salad, a wonderful mix of grilled calamari and sweet small shrimp in olive oil, herbs, and spices over fresh arugula. It was so good it took our breath away. Then, salmon carpaccio, fresh and delicious. After that Angelo asked us to try his octopus salad with potatoes and smelts. I'm not a fan of octopus or smelts but the octopus was better than any I'd had before and the mix with potatoes was brilliant; the smelts however, tasted like smelts. Yuck. Sorry Italian and Midwestern people that love them. Finally we had a pizza margarita with fresh mozzarella. It's a thin crust pizza, cooked perfectly, the dough different and better than any other I've had. It was topped with a subtle yet full flavored sauce, and slabs of fresh, real Mozzarella. it was cooked perfectly; and then the waitress sprinkled a hot pepper olive oil over the top. It couldn't have been better; in New York or in Italy. Really. Couldn't be better. The pizza was $16 and we split it. They are personal pizzas but unless you're a teenage boy, split one. Try the ceviches. Try the appetizers and try the Italian wines by the glass. I tried too many of them and they were all good and reasonably priced. The wait staff is great, as you might expect. Prices are very reasonable, maybe even "cheap." As they say in yelp, "Woohoo!"

Went here for an anniversary a week ago. The food was very good and was complemented by a great bottle of Italian Chianti off of their great wine list. We opted to sit outside due to the bright lights and congested seating inside. Larger portions of food than we expected...could have split the pizza and soup. Would definitely recommend!
(4)James G.
I had their Margherita Pizza and classic bruchetta, both were very bland and needed more flavor. Service however was not bad, and the place did have a nice atmosphere, but I went more for the food than the latter.
(2)Rob T.
The food is very good. And the wine List is great. Only problem is I always leave hungry. Have to order something to go, even after I try a couple appetizers. A little pricey for what you get. The place seems like it belongs on south beach
(3)Suzanne S.
Love this menu... lots of options! The setting is great, and being a beach town, you can sit inside or dine outside. We had a few tapas, special wheat pizza and the tuna ceviche. The meal was pretty good, except the ceviche was a little dissapointing...I have not had ceviche this style, and I'm not sure what style it was. I would go back, just would not get the ceviche again.
(3)Michael W.
Finally a place with real atmosphere AND great food. The pizza I had the other night was cooked perfectly. Thanks The small moderately priced plates are a hit. Good food at a great price. You'll be around for awhile.
(5)Anne T.
I have been there three times. All excellent. The service is very friendly, they remembered us a month later. The ambiance inside and out is very comfortable. The saffron rice balls and zucchini flowers are excellent. The thin crust pizza in taste and consistency is very good. I would give it five stars except for the disappointment of no sfogliatelle for dessert the second two times I was there. They were the best I have ever had, and I have had many!
(4)Judy C.
Wow has this place gone down. Haven't been here in several months, last time was pretty lackluster but thought we'd give it one more try. Big mistake! Had the worst pizza ever tonight. Margarita soggy, greasy, pasty looking cardboard crust. Beet salad, usual bagged arugula but not awful, gelato still good. Service was attentive but definitely pushing more items. When this place first opened a few years ago it was edgy, really good food, service, etc. has steadily deteriorated, too bad.
(2)DarthMulle T.
Shockingly good, excellent ambiance and a fantastic staff.. Bar sceen is hip and the food is a real culinary treat. I cant wait to go back!
(4)Robo P.
Try the happy hour! All drinks are 2 for 1, but you can ask for 2 different drinks if the price is not too far apart. There is a bar menu and I had the veal meatballs. Fantastic, and huge. Then their pizza, no discount but not pricy. Had the one with anchovies, yum yum. This and the Chart house are the best Hhr I've found. We will be back!
(5)Christina C.
Best pizza we've had in a long time. Excellent flavor! Fabulous thin crust.... Could eat way too much of this stuff coz it's sooooo darrrrrrn gooooood!!!! Try it...you'll be hooked!!!!
(5)Yara G.
Wine wonderful We had the burrata, squash Flowers and the Cremona pizza. It was wonderful to have stumbled across this place. service was great, atmosphere good and family friendly..

Been here twice. Once with a group of 4 and another time with a group of 8. Both time, the place was great. Food: 4 stars Service: 3 Ambiance: 4 Value: 3.5 Food: Written from a vegetarian POV. Some good vegetarian choices but not a lot (only one veg entree but 6 veg pizzas). They start of with bread on the table and they have a a chili olive oil (nice spice to it) as well as olive oil / balsamic vinegar on the table. We had a pinot noir which they recommended and it was very tasty so we got a 2nd bottle (Meomi by Caymus, $45). I had a greca salad, the porcini pizza and gelato for desert. Greca salad was a bit small, but the fresh ingredients and combination of feta & kalamata olives gave it a good taste. The porcini pizza I had without cheese and it was very good (especially if you like mushrooms). Gelato was 1/2 mint and 1/2 dark chocolate. Very good. Service: A bit slow, we thought. Usually good service is one that is checking with the table without you feeling that bothered or wondering where they are. We had to look for them a number of time to place our drink orders, appetizers, etc. Ambiance: A nice place for dinner, both times. Some good looking people there for people watching as well. Value: Good quality food and generally good quantity. It's a nice place to eat so you are paying ofr the ambiance as well. But, the service, at least the times I've gone should be a bit better. Summary: A nice, upscale place to go for a good meal, especially with friends and family. Wish they had a bit more vegetarian options, but overall 4 stars.

Being new in town i was referred to this Italian eatery by friends. The place is under some sort of expansion project. We, 6 of us arrived for an early dinner Thursday and the valet service was a nice touch especially with the construction..and were surprised that it was Happy Hour.. Great. The look of the restaurant is something out of a magazine, very hip and clean. The bartender was very outgoing and knew the menu as some items were not too familiar to me and he explained them to us nicely. We eventually sat with a nice booth table and were greeted by a server who offered us a special cocktail list as well as verbal specials of the day. She asked if it was our first time here and she guided us through the menu along the way. A nice warm bread service was brought over with several oils and vinegar. We ordered the grilled octopus with arugula and beans in a lemon vinaigrette and the two meatballs, veal and chicken. The starters were delicious. I have never had grilled octopus so tender. My friends decided to order pizza, the "angelo" and the cremona. Both were cooked perfectly, nice and crispy crust. Great flavor. Being almost full we tried three pasta dishes, a lasagna, a Penne genovese and a linguine with clams. I have to say that they were exceptional. My friends who are from Canada were pleasantly surprised to learn that the Italian chef was from Montreal. We ended up splitting two homemade gelato and some espresso. Overall I would recommend this restaurant. I hear they will soon be doing a weekend brunch. I hope to try it before i leave.
(4)Kevin H.
Excellent food and outstanding service. Favorite pizza is the porcina. They are willing to split salads and soups. Very clean and always busy. Valet parking (free) only and no other options.
(5)Roberto B.
So happy that this gem is in my neighborhood that I just moved into. I'll admit I was swayed in my restaurant choices because they have a full page ad in Hotspots - a local magazine catering to the LBGT community; gotta support your own! But I also double checked on Yelp and saw some pretty good reviews - and they were spot on. My house bottle of Chianti was lip smacking good. My appetizer of fried zucchini blossoms were so fresh you could swear there was a garden out back and my coal fired pizza was both crisp, chewey and cheesy - the three "c's" I seek out in good pizza. With a very friendly and attentive staff I know I'll be back!
(4)Ivan P.
Love this place. The best pizza in town. Excellent and generous Charcuterie Boards. Love the pulpo and meat balls.
(5)Charmie P.
Lovely ambiance, the restaurant is larger than what it looks like from the outside, it is fresh, classy and modern, with a large wine bar, and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. One thing to note is that they only offer complementary valet service for parking. The food is phenomenal, the pizzas are cooked in a fire wood-burning oven, the ingredients are fresh and everything is well executed. There are plenty of tapas, salads, soups, pastas, paninis, ceviches and carpaccios to choose from. I wish they offered a larger variety of cheese and meats for their charcuterie plates. Very nice dining experience, I definitely want to return and try many other items on the menu.
(4)Ryan C.
Server Nikolay was very nice. With a wood burning oven and mounds of dough on hand, the Texas toast esque bread service was disappointing. Sad, actually. The salad choices in the menu weren't very interesting (Greca?, not for me), but they did whip up a decent arugola and white bean salad that wasn't on the menu. Margherita pizza was a gooey mess, with bagged shredded mozzarella taste, and waaaay too much of it. It was greasy, something I'd expect from a pizza chain. Lemon and berry sorbettos were very good... Even with a couple of solid points, the pizza was bad enough that I won't go back.
(1)Danielle L.
Good food, but a bit overpriced. Pear and fig pizza was sweet like a nice pizza dessert.
(4)True P.
Omg! So good! Food is delicious, drinks are great, atmosphere is friendly and casual.
(5)Ryan S.
Oh-oh-oh-oh no! Damn-they were doing so good for me & then... Had a nice minestrone soup & was then further pleased by a great pear/bacon/fig pizza... everything is going well - emptying my wine & wrapping up dinner... the waitress suggests desert (alright, let's see what you've got, girl) She comes back with a cappuccino & tiramisu... oh the agony of it, my whole meal fell off a cliff. This tiramisu was not made well (total flop) Here's to D'Angelo picking up its desert game, all the rest went well...
(2)Marci B.
Such a great experience! Amazing service from Paolo to Mikey to Pedro. How does one restaurant have 100% consistently excellent service? Atmosphere is perfect; not too stuffy but not too loud either. And the chef, Giovanni, is super flexible, very rare for south Florida chefs. The food was amazing and all servers were very knowledgeable about nutrition, gluten, etc.
(5)Maria G.
Visited this restaurant on May 16. The service at the bar was very good. The pizza was really good. Will return soon.
(4)Josh E.
Best kitchen in south florida. I go here atleast once a week, The service is always perfect. Brandon and anna are amazing servers. Best pizza in south florida also. There is not a single thing on the menu that isn't good. Their peanut butter gelato is amazing but is so popular that is is always getting sold out quickly. The family that owns it is very nice and always comes and talks to you every meal and gets to know you very well. The head chef joavanii is the best chef you will ever encounter. If you want fresh ingredients, then this is the place to go.
(5)Susan L.
I love this place and everyone I've taken there (from my daughter to my mother to business colleagues) has raved about it. Love the sausage, broccoli rabe and white beans, the white pizza with spinach, peppers and sausage is as good as it gets - love that thin, crunchy crust. The brie with smoked salmon pizza is another favorite. Veal meatball? To die for. My only complaint - and it's not enough to keep me from going is - sometimes it's a little noisy. The last time I was there, a colleague and I were seated between 4 - tops, both of which were so loud - talking, laughing, drinking, that I wanted to leave. Other than that, it's one of my favorite places. If ever I get stuck between two noise-makers again, I will speak up and ask to be moved.
(4)Dave O.
I've only been here about 6 months but this place is by far my favorite restaurant here. The rice balls, the pizza, the chicken parm. All amazing! We've gone there with just two and with a group of ten and the service has always been spot on. Great food in a casual environment, I couldn't ask for more!
(5)Tricia T.
Food = amazing!! Very friendly and inviting service. Delicious alternative to the original D'Angelo's. Sometimes the five-star restaurant just isn't feasible -- in my case I'm here in town for work and picked up an order to go. Tasted just as good if I would have sat down. The tomato and mozzarella salad is amazing. Literally tasted like something I've had in Florence, Italy. I've never had anything that's come close and this is almost an exact! I'll Definitely come back here with my family.
(4)Montana L.
Simple and traditional Italian bistro fare in a well appointed room . Highlights include: pizzas, pasta, salads and gelato. I had the lasagna which tasted just like your Grandma's. It was well prepared and finished with care. Most items are reasonable and under $20. For a more upscale experience, they have a sister restaurant, Casa D'Angelo on the otherwise of town.
(4)Kimberley C.
Went to D'Angelo's more than once just for their arugula & beef carpaccio. They remind me of a bit more upscale experience than what you would get here: yelp.com/biz/cafe-martor… It really makes me laugh......
(3)Pete M.
Fresh calamari and octopus. Good bisque. Good pizzas. Good service. An overall very good experience.
(4)Lauren B.
Sharp, sexy dining room, friendly and attentive service, excellent wine selection and the food is DELISH! Such unique, indulgent, tasty fun dishes! We ordered the chicken and turkey meatballs, buffalo mozzarella, lamb-stuffed pepper and porchini escargot in cream sauce. Every bite was yummy-yummy. Huge menu, can't wait to return!
(5)Jem Z.
I have been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally made it! I love tapas and I love wine so I was soooo ready. Came here after nine on a weekday and sat on the patio. The inside looked very chic, modern, and brightly lit, and there was a decent-sized indoor bar. The patio had a very nice ambiance, and even though you are virtually right next to Federal, you don't really feel like it (maybe it was the company, maybe it was the ambiance, who knows). I was impressed by the menu, most specifically the salads. It took us quite some time to mull over our crucial selection. We decided on the tomato and mozzarella salad, the turkey and chicken meatballs, and the Cremona pizza. Salad was tomotoes, onions, mozz, and a gorgonzola vinaigrette, literally all of my favorite things in one salad. Was tasty, exactly what one would expect from these ingredients, and the dish was well presented. Turkey and chicken meatballs- two large meatballs served in a brodo. Overall, not something to write yelp about. Cremona pizza we both thought neither of us would go for but we both secretly wanted it and then it became not a secret and we ordered it. Why the hesitancy? Why the secrecy? This pizza consists of mozzarella, gorgonzola, pears, figs, and yum yum pancetta... something that sounds kind of different than the idea of pizza we had had in mind upon arrival. This pizza was by far my favorite thing. I am having a hard time focusing on my review because I am daydreaming about this pizza. At first I thought the pears would throw it off, but they were thinly sliced and hardly noticeable. The texture of the figs was the only thing that may deter someone, but the flavor combo of the sweet and salty trumps the texture by far. It is a great portion and could easily feed two to three people. They have a lot of different wines, most available in a glass, quartino, or bottle. The server was on point, and I felt he was genuinely trying to provide a nice experience for us. My only gripe with this place is the mandatory free valet. I could have walked three feet to my car and been done with it, but had to wait for valet dude to pull my car out for me. The incoming valet line also left me stranded car a$$ out on Federal, which was not safe or a good feeling. Overall, would def recommend this place for a cute date night or a girls night out. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes.
(4)Bob G.
Since I find myself slamming my other neighborhood eating establishments, I realize I have neglected to give one of my favorite places a review. I go here at least once a month for the past 2 years. I do that because it is phenomenal. Have you ever had a deep worried calzone? If not, you better try it now. The Paulo is out of this world! Enough said about that. The meatballs are right up there with some of the best in town. Put together your own meat and cheese plates with a reasonably priced bottle of wine and you'll look like a pro on your first date. Great date place. Servers and bar staff (Pedro/mike) you guys are the best. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's one of the best run places in Fort Lauderdale
(5)Jackie F.
Always great food! I've never had a bad meal here.. Especially love the stuffed flowers and lobster bisque.
(5)Nate H.
So glad we came here! Spacious and airy on the inside, and the al fresco dining option is great in the cooler months. Get here by 7pm, because the tables fill up fast! (they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more) Even with the lively crowd, the sound proofing panels keep the noise down considerably. The veal and pecorino meatballs and saffron rice balls (Arancini) were very tasty, but could have been a bit warmer. Great wine list, and some great affordable options as well as impressive higher end for special celebrating. We devoured the Diavola spicy salami pizza! Service is efficient and friendly...even when the restaurant got busier. Professionals at work! Had so much fun, we stayed for an after dinner cordial. Molto gustoso!!
(4)Hadil J.
I had a really good pizza!!! Only suggestion is for the staff to go around and check on the guests more often.
(4)Andy C.
THhis place is for real. Great, fresh, awesome food inspired by one of the top chefs in town. Great lunch, great for a casual dinner. One of my favorites.
(5)Jphn M.
Usually would give 4.5 stars. Tonite the food was fine but the place was jammed and the waitstaff couldn't keep up. All out of sync.
(3)Keith B.
Really good find. We went with a group of 10 for a birthday. Place is very clean, upscale looking. Wed night, moderately crowded. We ordered a few bottles of wine, appetizers, and many pizzas. I didn't order, just ate what came. So I can't comment on prices or even what the heck stuff was. But I can tell you the food was very good and I would definitely like to go here again. I didn't pay either, so not sure about the value proposition. But the valet is free!
(4)Jeffrey E.
Excellent all across the board. A definite must eat place! Yum, Yum and more yum! It was our second visit and it was as great as the first visit a few years ago. Caprese salad, meatball and red sauce were just outstanding. The nightly wine special encouraged us to enjoy a great bottle of vino too. If you are looking for great service and tasty Italian food -- you've found the place.
(5)Charlotte B.
Love this place! I am a regular now, this place is my to go when I want really good pizza! When we come here we always get the octopus and potato appetizer and the Diavolo pizza ! They have a lot of menu options and daily specials . Next time we come we will definitely have the white pizza !
(5)Viktor H.
Perfect place to hang out and enjoy time with friends. The room is modern, clean, spacious enough and the noise level does not get in the way of your own conversations. The food is perfect for sharing if you order the right things. For three of us we ordered stuffed artichoke hearts (they were actually fried which turned me off when they arrived but they were delicious once I bit into them!), the fontina polenta (big enough for the group) and a pizza with prosciutto, pear and fig (loved this but could have used more of the figgy goodness). We also had three gelatos to sample for dessert. The nutella and dark chocolate both rocked while the lemon was the tartest thing I may have ever ordered! Great as an intermezzo, not so much for dessert, so stick to the sweeter ones. One warning, there are two restaurants by this group on Federal so don't make the mistake we did and secure a reservation at the wrong one! While we were seated we received four text messages questioning our whereabouts even after I responded with a text stating we were already seated. I finally had to get up and give my phone to the host so he could call the number and ask the texter to stop harassing us! I hate to say this but if you are going to make a reservation you may want to use a land line (if anyone still has one) or the number of someone who really treated you poorly. Unless you like harassing texts. We will be back!
(4)Patricia N.
Came here for a friend's birthday celebration. Free valet parking is always a great thing to have. But honestly, I don't think it's really necessary considering they're have their own lot. But I'm not going to complain about it. They set up their patio area (which faced the very busy street and intersection - not the best idea for dining patrons) for my friend's ridiculous 20+ party. They were very accommodating and tried their best to serve us in a timely fashion. A few of us ordered one item each to share which is always a smart thing to do if you wanted to try everything on their menu. We ordered an array of pizzas (calamari, margherita, an eggplant one), lasagne, and a seafood pasta dish. All were pretty good but nothing so overwhelmingly memorable. They had a pretty extensive wine list and tons of glass pours you can choose from that range from $8-12. There was a check-in offer that said we would get free ice cream if we showed the server, but they were pretty stingy about it. Apparently, the offered was "expired" but they never took it down from their Yelp page, and when we complained about it, they told us only a few of the people at our table were able to claim it. Umm, if your restaurant can't keep up with your own Yelp page, then don't bother putting offers in the first place! HOW RUDE. Anyway, that was the worst part of my dining experience here but it was bad enough to just give them a mediocre rating. This place is OK, but I don't think I'd make too much of an effort to come back.
(3)J. E.
The food and service were both good, but the noise level inside was painful. Had to shout to be heard. Probably would not go back because of that. Having said that, we had some terrific Veal meatbslls.
(2)H M.
This is such a great (and much-needed!) addition to the Ft Lauderdale dining scene. If you have eaten at Casa d'Angelo (their white-tablecloth restaurant) you can appreciate how good the food will be. We've been twice and both times were great (service and food) It's a "small plates" style menu broken up into several categories: tapas, appetizers, pizzas (regular and Bianco sections), pastas and sandwiches. all dishes are shareable. We had the veal meatballs (two huge ones: light fluffy and the best I've ever had). An antipasto plate (for 2 or 4) had two types of cheese, salami, prosciutto, arugula, olives and peppers. Fresh and good. There are at least 20 pizza choices and all are Neapolitan style, made in a wood-burning oven. We also had the gnocchi and lasagna. They have an nice-sized wine list in all price ranges and our bottle of red arrived at proper cellar temperature. It gets extremely busy on weekends and only takes reservations for parties of 6+. It's a bit less crazy during the week. Highly recommend!
(5)Aubrie J.
Delicious food and great service! Had the veal meatballs, so tender, melted in your mouth. I could eat the tomato sauce with a spoon. Loved their prosciutto, arugula and Mozzarella pizza! Nice selection of Gelato for dessert. Recommend the Italian Cookie flavor! :)
(4)Dee B.
Awesome food and service.... So quaint and clean..... Loved everything we ordered... Minestrone soup was the best ever !!!!! Can't wait to go back !!!!
(5)Angela K.
20 of us came here because it was a friend's birthday. The bday girl, a foodie like me, found this wonderful place. It's not just a pizza place. It's a gourmet pizza place with wine and other tapas! AND the decor of the patio seating is just absolutely darling. These gourmet pizza reminded me back home in LA. The toppings and choices and the TASTE. yuuuuum. pear and goat cheese pizza florentine pizza with salmon the calzone to name a few. NONE of the dishes disappointed me. Neither did their wine selections. The food was FANTASTIC and the service too. I would come back here in a heart beat. Moreover, FREE VALET! whaaaat. FOOD 5 stars DECOR 5 stars SERVICE 5 stars TIP: Ask for their list of desserts. They don't have a menu but MAN there is an AMAZING LIST. I recommend the hazelnut gelato and a dessert with nutella (i don't remember what the name is but it has nutella!!!!!)
(5)Josh B.
Top picks: pistachio crusted scallops, white pie w truffle oil and spinach, eggplant Parm as an appetizer(easily could be a meal). All their gelato selections are excellent. Can't wait to come back again.

Not really sure what all the hype is about. The restaurant is beautiful and modern and our server was good but the food was mediocre at best. The tomato sauce is very good and fresh but everything else left a lot to be desired- the salad, chicken parm panini and margarita pizza were comparable to the Olive Garden- at twice the price. Won't be back and wouldn't recommend.

Casa D'Angelo is light years better in my opinion. It was my friends birthday so we made a reservation, well in advance, for Saturday night at 8 pm. Our birthday girl, according to her checkins, had been here 27 times!!!!! We actually arrived early which is an act of God in and of itself, around 730 pm, to grab a drink up at the bar. Around 8 pm we were all hungry so let the hostess know that we definitely didn't need to sit outside as we first requested, but rather could eat inside. Around 8:15 we still didn't have a table in sight and had already cashed 2 glasses of wine each. The bartender noticed we had been waiting a really long time and brought over grilled or burnt pieces of hard bread--yippee. He was about to comp us some appetizers, but of course our table was now ready [perfect timing]. We finally sit around 8:40 pm and immediately start ordering. We started with the zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese-which were very good. Then some shared pizzas and some shared other items. Me and my 2 friends decided to share: {see pix} 1) the meatballs-not good at all. Loaded with onions and tasted like your mom's Sunday night meatloaf more than a meatball. It was also hard as a rock. Don't order this 2) Scallop appetizer special with spinach. The sauce for me had too many chives, scallops were a little undercooked, and were pretty fishy. Again, not my favorite 3) Seafood pasta with scallops, shrimp, and lobster throw away pieces. It was awful. It was so bad we told the waitress and she took it off. The "lobster" that was in it was like the end pieces that nobody really eats and should be put into soup and ground up. All 3 of us did not like it. If you go look at my pix you will see it doesn't even look good. 4) Octopus Carpaccio--actually very good, but not acidic enough for me. IF you add balsamic to it, it's pretty amazing. Unfortunately, it's very small and not a main entree. 5) Some puffed bread with meat on it....not bad, kinda like a pizza. I've seen this preparation, minus the meat, in Vegas before. I added balsamic to this as well. The only saving grace here was the service at the bar and the table was very good. And they comped a birthday dessert tray and coffee for us because we did wait so long. The Cannoli was divine! Will I go back- probably not. Again there's so many AMAZING Italian & Pizza places around here it's hard to go to a just 'OK' one.

Came for seafood and pizza. Ordered the tuna ceviche, Margherita pizza and a glass of white wine. The tuna ceviche flavor was ok, the portion was plenty. I specifically like the grapefruit and oranges in it. The pizza....well it was just pizza. The ambience was great, lots of Italian speaking staff and patrons. We sat outside which was a bit loud since it is right on the street

I enjoyed a wonderful lunch here today with a friend. A PERFECT PORTION for lunch. I ordered a 'special' ...two scallops, crusted with pistachio and served over sautéed strips of zucchini and with some piquant, buttery sauce. Great textures and flavors. A small dish that was absolutely delightful! Our server was great and the restaurant style is fresh.

Heard good things about this place, finally decided to make the trip for a late lunch. I was very pleased with the establishment. First, they have complimentary valet. Second, the service was phenomenal. Also there is also a wine /liquor bar. The Portofino pizza was amazing and the toppings were super fresh. After the main course, we had oreo gelato ice cream. It was amazing, very lite and good in flavor. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I do not mind visiting again.

Location is just Ok, They have done as much as they can with the outside seating area by using plantings to try to shield you from the traffic noise of the highway which is only steps away. I would like to see a designated no smoking area so non smokers can dine alfresco. But hey, this is my complaint with almost all FL restaurants. The interior decor was modern and inviting. So how's the service, food and pricing? Very good! The service was attentive without being overbearing. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. They have an excellent selection of wines by the glass and the quality were also very good. The options for food were exceptionally interesting and the selections we made did not disappoint. Since Tapas portions are relatively moderate, this would be an excellent choice when you need to eat but aren't starving. Tapas and wine for 2 ended up totaling about $75 with tip (and we only had one glass of wine each) so it will not be a "budget" evening out but I would say the overall experience was worth it. Therefore I would recommend D'Angelo Pizza Wine Bar & Tapas to my friends and fellow Yelp readers.

Wow! I can't believe I haven't been here sooner! This place is sexy sexy sexy on the inside- sleek, contemporary, just adorable I thought! The food: JACKPOT! Sausage and Rapini = AWESOME! Eggplant Parm = AMAZING! Arancini's = could be better! Cannelloni and arugula salad = PHENOMENAL!!! Pizza = pretty AWESOME! The have a full bar and the wine list is pretty legit! Service was extremely extremely on point- I'd recommend this place HIGHLY!!
(5)Marna B.
Exceptional service started the minute we walked into restaurant we were well attended and never rushed. We shared dishes so we could try lots of dishes. Fried calamarie with veges light and tasty, meatballs amazing, good arugula salad, crisp yummy pizza and perfectly cooked fish. For dessert crime brûlée was best followed by good gelato. Only thing we were divided on was cheese cake some in our group felt it was to dry.
(5)Penny Y.
Always a good meal. Nice atmosphere and great gelato!
(5)Jenny D.
Great menu but after so many visits - I've not made it past their tapas and salad selections. All their tapas are mouth watering, well seasoned and flavorful but not overwhelming. Great location, friendly staff and glad they opened the lot next door for parking. Always a treat to meet friends @ this place - thank you.

Excellent Italian food in East Fort Lauderdale. Sure parking is very limited (i.e. non existent), but they have valet and the food is great. The ambiance is actually nicer than most restaurants in Italy and they have Italian cooking shows on the several 55 inch videos around the restaurant. This place is very clean and modern inside. They have a bar, gelato bar, and fire pizza oven. I tried the shrimp and calamari appetizer (deleted the smelts) that was lightly fried and outstanding. For lunch I had the chicken with penne pasta in a lemon butter sauce that was very good as the pasta is made fresh and you really can taste the difference from other non-fresh made pasta restaurants. For desert, the gelato was the BEST I have ever had (even better than in Italy). This restaurant allows you to sample them all and will arrange them on a small dish. I went for the chocolate and it was pure heaven. Seriously, the best, smoothest, and freshest gelato I have ever had the pleasure of tasting.
(4)Customer T.
This place's food is way overrated for what it actually is, a wine bar with a copious wine list, and since when you're hungry any food is edible, perhaps most of the reviews were written by people who never actually had actual italian food, but this food does not seem to be cooked by authentic italians.. the baked bread was burnt, the tomato sauce was raw uncooked and unseasoned, as if it has just been poured from a can or bottle and warmed up for one minute without actually being cooked! the artichokes were clearly canned and when we asked the waiter he said they were fresh and then when we showed him they were clearly soaked in vinegar as canned artichokes are, he said ''oh sorry, waiters don't taste the food.'' lol wow. this was an enormous waste of $ 180+ meal. our table of 5 all would have asked for refund but that's not how we roll. learned from the mistake, just won't dine there anymore.
(1)April W.
I can't say enough great things about this place. It doesn't need a long winded review. It is just great. What we ate; ~3 different pizzas, margherita, napoletan, and the whole whea crust with veggies , all awesome ~Beef Carpacci - UNBELIEVEABLE ~Cheese and Salami Platter, decadent and great selection of cheeses. ~Burratta, Fig, Arugula, YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM ~Prosecco, perfect balance of sweet and dry and bubbly (had 4 glasses) ~Gelato, variety, my cousin is a diabetic and risked her health to order not one but two dishes of gelato. This place was great, good service, great decor, free valet parking and a nice buzz in the place. I would make a special trip to FL just to eat at this place. Do not hesitate to go. The price was right too.

This place is SO GOOD! Very modern and trendy restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The servers are very friendly and attentive. Very nice environment and delicious food. Their pizza is incredible as are their calzones!! They also have the best marinara sauce I have ever had. Definitely will be going there again and recommending to friends and family.
(5)Marqus R.
It has a nice Five Star interior, superlative service and offers some great Italian food; though taste wise somewhat on the bland side. The most outstanding dishes I had were the Carpaccio's, most particularly the Carpaccio di Pulpo and either the muscles or the clams or a combination of both in a tomato broth. In the Carpaccio di Pulpo the octopus is from the tentacle (I simple adore eating tentacles from any source) shaved width wise super thin with a nice fresh vegetable salad topping. The clams and muscles are superlative in overall taste and flavor; having a touch more zest to them than most of their other food items. The only downside to D'Angelo is parking. They have valet parking, and it may just be one of my little peccadilloes or a thingy only to me, but a detest valet parking. Though complimentary, I always tip a couple bucks, but here it is particularly hair rising as the spaces are small and they also use spaces located elsewhere. I like the place. It's better than "A"-OK, but I can say that I am a Fan, but Yelp has no half stars that would put it someplace in between those two choices rating it 3.5; so I'm giving it a Four Star because when in doubt I rate upward.
(4)Jim D.
A great place to stop with friends, being Italian I can tell you that the pizza was better than any that I had in Rome, it was so lite I had to hold it down so it would not fly off the plate. Their veal meat balls are fantastic and the sauce, MAMA MIA, just like my grandmother use to make. The rice balls are a treat to have so sit down and enjoy. O SOL LA MIA....
(4)Kevin M.
We must have gone to D'Angelo on the night when they decided to do the opposite of everything Yelpers have been saying about the place. Let's see... Slow, inattentive service; mediocre food; noise level that made a conversations difficult. In trying to come up with something positive to say I can only offer that the valet guy was quick and courteous. Unfortunately, not a good reason to visit a restaurant. I can't recommend D'Angelo Pizza Wine Bar & Tapas unless you're dining at a nearby restaurant and need a place to park.
(2)Sflamom S.
Parkland :Went back again tonight and it was fantastic! Soooo excited to have such a great restaurant in the Parkland area! Our waiter was Javier. He was very attentive and will ask for him again. His suggestions were spot on! Food was a 10! Will try the other locations

D'Angelo's has been consistently good since opening, a place you can go with family and friends confident all will be satisfied Tonight we were happy to see they've raised their service game with Paul's addition to the wait staff. Paul's expert service moved to D'Angelo's from an Italian eatery up the street and he's a great addition. Cheers.

First timer! Let me start off by saying, it's some of the best pizza I've had since visiting Rome. Yes it's that good and I'll tell you why. Let's face it, there is really only 3 ingredients in pizza. The dough, tomato sauce, and cheese but maybe I'm wrong? They say the secret is in the sauce but again, I think they are wrong. The dough people!....in itself is made up of ingredients and technique that make or BREAK a pizza. This place does it right. You will absolutely forget about Anthony's Coal Fire after tasting this pie. First off, they use a wood burning oven. It gives the pizza a gorgeous crust and very slight wood burn flavor. Back to the crust...when you hear a food critic say that the crust had a nice chew to it, this crust is what they mean by that. When you bite down on it, it feels slightly elastic and well, chewy! What you will also experience is a wonderfully crispy outer layer of the crust. It's not a hard, crunchy, burnt crust. It's more like a rice crispy type crunch, very light crispness with some wood fire burns and then you get that CHEW I talked about. The red sauce was really fresh and bright, the mozzarella was creamy and Delicious and the floral sweet basil leaves topped it off. We had the classic Margherita pizza. I also highly recommend the fried stuffed zucchini blossoms. They did it right as the batter they dip it in was super light almost tempura'ish. Get this! The eggplant rollatini was super satisfying as well. We will be back for sure! If anything, I will be back for just the pizza. Amazing.

We come to D'Angelos at least 3x's a week. Growing up in Brooklyn, NY we consider ourselves picky Italian eaters. They do not disappoint. Everyone is friendly and appreciative of our business now the parking issue is much better. Now for the most important part the food. Mostly everything we have ever ordered was amazing. Some of our faves are . The Contadina Pizza, the Caprese Pizza, their salads are delish especially arugula and the caesar. Their zuppa de Clams is amazing! eggplant rolatini yum, the chicken bruschetta I could eat everyday and never be tired of it Their half roasted chicken delish. their lasagna yum! I could go on..but on to dessert the best gelato in town! try their dulce de leche or their italian cookie..my son's fave is the oreo and my hubby loved to have hazelnut plopped into a cup of espresso!
(5)Sarah G.
D'Angelo's pizza is so much more than that. It has an upscale , trendy feel to it, and the many times I have eaten here, have failed to disappoint . You can't compare it to the main restaurant, but it's not trying to be fine dining. The menu is more than pizza- we have had everything from calzone to veal, all quite good. The broccoli rabe ( rapini?) is a favorite. Service is always efficient, and usually friendly.. If there was a complaint it is that there could be a long wait, especially on the weekends.
(5)Curtis D.
Had the lunch shrimp pasta. Had a great presentation, very tasty. Service was great, very attentive staff. Nice outdoor patio. Will be back again for sure

VERY disappointing experience...... After reading some good reviews about D'Angelos, a friend and I decided to try it out this past weekend. After being met at the hostess stand with a blank stare and without even a smile or a "good evening", we were seated. The place was busy, so we were totally fine with sitting in the dining room along the busy staff "traffic" area. The waitress greeted us quickly, and was pleasant. My friend asked for her to choose for her a good glass of Pinot Noir. Considering this place is also a wine bar, we both expected it to be quite good. Instead, whatever she brought to the table was a cheap, tasteless, watery Pinot. Quite disappointing for a "wine bar". My friend and I both ordered 2 of the specials for that evening. Pan seared scallops and chicken piccata. The chicken piccata breast itself was cooked fine. But it was covered with a thick yellowy sauce that had the consistency of almost pancake batter. Typically, this should be a very light sauce of butter, lemon, wine, stock, and capers. What they plopped on top of the chicken was thick, tasteless, and drenched in salt. Absolutely terrible! I scraped most of it off, and just ate the chicken breast. My friend's scallops were better. Sautéed light and tender, but like the chicken it was drowning in salt. After paying our bill, we were met by the same expressionless blank stare from the hostess and presumably one of the owners upon our exit. No smile, and no "thank you" for your visiting. The place itself is clean and nicely decorated, with a nicely covered outdoor patio. Having worked in the restaurant business, I understand the chef might have an off night and I'd be willing to try this place again if it was just the food that was bad. However, what was most troubling was that you didn't feel welcome at all at D'Angelos. The staff is not trained properly in basic customer service skills like smiling, being cordial, and at least acting like they somewhat appreciate your business. The only person that smiled and said "thank you for visiting", was the valet. I will definitely not be back.
(1)Ann S.
What a disappointment! After waiting at the bar for 20 minutes for an outside table, the host came to the bar to get a bottle of wine for a couple he just sat outside. The bartender had to remind the host we were waiting. The host immediately sat us outside where there were 5 empty tables. The waiter was inattentive and seemed unmotivated. We ordered the antipasto with no olives and replacing the roasted peppers for hot peppers. The dish came with olives and roasted peppers. We asked the waiter to have it corrected and he came back with the olives removed only. We told him the peppers were still wrong. While waiting for the correct peppers, my companion had a bite of the bread which was soaked in olive juice. The waiter's excuse was that someone didn't show up. It was a first and last time at D'Angelo Pizza Wine Bar & Tapas.
(1)Hayley P.
This is a favorite spot to have a night out with my girlfriends (we order lots of pizzas and appetizers and share.) I love the octopus potato salad, the fig pizza (which is like dessert,) the taleggio mushroom pizza is outstanding... I haven't had anything I wouldn't order again.
(5)Jim J.
This was gourmet food at a very reasonable price. Our group of three left stuffed and with lots of leftovers for $49. We had the antipasto, the sausage and broccoli di rape panini, and the 4 formaggi pizza (stracchino and gorgonzola, taleggio and buffalo). The only thing needed was a little salt on the broccoli, which was perfect thereafter. This is a taste of D'Angelo's gourmet food you could safely expect at the great chef's other restaurants only for an inexpensive to moderate price. It is constantly busy; we dined on a Saturday afternoon (July 23) and it was nearly full. The value is excellent and the locals keep it full. We ran into some old friends who, by the way, have good taste. They're regulars at my restaurant.
(5)Kayla W.
I went here for a Yelp event. The food they served was all amazing. We had veal meatballs, rice balls, bread with bree cheese and salmon for appetizers. For the main meal we had three different pizza's. The prosciutto, arugula and mozzarella pizza was fabulous along with the veggie pizza. They also served us a pizza with ricotta cheese and veal meatballs, this pizza was good but out of the three they gave us this was my least favorite. For dessert they gave us gellato. I had a chocolate gellato which was heavenly. I would definitely come back here the food they gave us was incredible. They said they were opening one in delray which would be perfect for me since its closer to my home. I cant wait to try them in their new location.
(5)Eschel H.
I went here for dinner with my wife and another couple last night. Their food is excellent and the wine offerings is impressive and reasonably priced. We enjoyed basil/pesto French fries, fried risotto balls, a little charcuterie plate some excellent turkey and chicken meatballs and a margarita pizza. Why the three star review? My wife called in the early afternoon and asked about a reservation, but was informed that only parties of six or more make make one. When she asked what it would be like around 7:30 he said that there would be little-to-no wait. Great, except that this was only to sit outside because the interior was completely booked by previously mentioned large groups and if we wanted to sit inside it would be a 90 minute wait. Add to that EXCEPTIONALLY slow service and HUGE waits requiring repeated requests for additional water and I just don't know if this place is worth the trouble 4 stars for food averaged against 2 stars for service gets my 3 star review.
(3)Dani I.
Terrific food! I look forward to going again soon... There's nothing like a great pizza partnered with a nice glass of wine.
(5)Hallie M.
I really really REALLY love this place! I now live in Aventura, which makes it harder to come here, but when I lived in the area I was here all the time. I have never had a bad experience here, the food and service has always been on point. Some must haves include the roasted sweet italian sausage, eggplant parm, suppli rice balls, sicilian tuna salad, norcino or ciccio calzone, and honestly any of the pizzas. Also, the focaccia that they serve at the beginning of the meal is hot, chewy and delicious (ask for the spicy olive oil with it ... YUM). I also love the ambiance of the place, and love how the tv's show real italian cooking videos, very authentic! Can't wait to come back!
(4)Stacy S.
For the record I am giving this place four and a half stars. It's that good. Last night, I went to D'Angelo's for the second time. I really like the ambiance both inside and outside on the patio. This time I had the tuna and the polpo (octopus) carpaccio. It was so delicious! The hostess, manager, and waiter were all nice. It was the strangest thing, the waiter was Italian. It's an Italian restaurant, imagine that! Anyway, the bread is good, pizza yummy. It's the closest thing to a modern, casual place in Italy. Definitely check it out. And yes, Italians do dine there. There was a huge table sitting on the patio, the last time I went. Enjoy!
(4)David H.
Good food....good prices....friendly staff. Nice to sit outside but it can be noisy from the federal traffic...
(4)Jodi C.
I really like this place! Love the outside seating, the menu consists of small plates, we had pizza. It has a nice wine menu. Outside patio with music, wine & pizza = enjoyable time!
(5)Jodie J.
I am continuously impressed with the great service at the bar. Friendly and professional care. I love the ceasar salad and the pizza is very tasty. A comfortable atmosphere for a date or alone dining.
(4)Lucy D.
Lobster bisque with toast was incredible! plus free valet parking! My only issue was the server was very vague when I asked him to explain what tapas are (never had one)
(4)Rick G.
Great variety of pizzas. This is not the place for peperoni pizza; much more exotic than that.
(5)Juan T.
D'Angelos was a good place to eat lunch. There was everything to pick of in there menu. There was no pasta in the menu but you ask the waiter and he will ask the chef, if he can do it. This place is very modern. The worst part is when you seat outside, there alot of noise because the cars passing the street.
(4)David D.
Myself and two friends were in FTL recently for a guys weekend (it is Ft. Lauderdale, after all!) and were told by several people about Casa D'Angelo and it's great food... Being in a more casual mood, we chose to not go in after we pulled up in front of the restaurant and saw the white table cloths, etc. As we drove down Federal Highway looking for another option, we happened upon D'Angelo and decided to go in. What a great choice! And how great to learn that it is the same owner... All of our choices were great- to be honest, I don't remember all of them. But as the other reviews have stated, the pizza is great; the veal meatballs were wonderful, sausage with beans and greens was a favorite. Service was spot on, great team work amongst the team, three managers and the chef on the floor being attentive to all details (and what a difference that makes.) Highly recommend!
(5)Gina S.
D'Angelo is modern chic meets local pizza joint. Its location in Oakland Park, sits on top of US1, making the view from its chic outdoor dining area a little "congested," but still satisfies patrons who wish to dine al fresco. The inside area is vibrant with bright lighting, a crisp appearance, and an energetic environment. While reservations aren't available, we have yet had to wait to be seated, but had we needed to kill some time, there is a nice bar which offers a full range of cocktails, beers and an extensive wine list. The first thing my foodie eyes noticed was the large screen television wasn't showing sports or news, but rather cooking shows featuring Italian recipes like pasta carbonara and fresh made pizza. This got me in the mood for the cuisine we were about to engage in and earned D'Angelo a couple of brownie points on my score sheet (although during football season, I would not oblige to the game being shown)! The laminated menu, which doubles as a place mat has a front side filled with mouthwatering selections ranging from small plates categorized as "Tapas" to larger options, like whole pizzas. The reverse side displays a huge variety of reds and whites. The menu is great for sharing and has some very good options (my favorites being the Salsiccia Fritata and the Porcini Pizza, with perfectly cooked crust and quality toppings). Make sure you save some room and order Gelato for dessert- how could you not when they have a deli like display of the homemade creamy goodness right in the middle of the place? Mint is my favorite, but I can't imagine that any of their ten varieties would be a bad option. The price points, fare, and overall experience make D'Angelo a viable option for any type of outing, whether it be for a first date or a Sunday family dinner. Those familiar with Chef Angelo, owner of the three fine dining restaurants, Casa D'Angelo, may be pleasantly surprised to know that this more casual location shaves off a dollar sign or two.

Although Italian tapas sounds like a great idea, the execution is sub-parr. Our meal was bland and boring. Not terrible, just not good. We ordered the tradidional bruschetta and the sun dried tomato and olive tapenade and were not impressed. We also ordered the Tour of Italy which includes tastings of different dishes. We had to smother everything in the sauce to get some taste to it, and then the waitress took the sauce away too early!! The pesto french fries were disappointing and the stew was lacking. Bottom line: I would not go back.
(2)Franco M.
Nice place. Very modern and contemporary design. Beautiful patio with plenty of tables for dining al fresco. The food is simple and very well prepared. I had a carpaccio di manzo, polenta with wild mushrooms, meatballs, fried calamari, shrimp, and smelt, and a pizza with prosciutto, arugula and buffalo mozzarella. I loved it all and was impressed with the pizza crust and the fact that they have smelt on the menu which I never see in a restaurant. Prices are reasonable and the "tapas" are actually appetizer size, so they were a lot larger than I thought they would be. We finished up the meal with hazelnut gelato. They have a display case with different flavors of gelato! I recommend this place for sure. Also I believe they are open until 2am on some nights and until 11pm on the others.
(4)Colleen R.
Don't judge this book by its cover! Driving by it seems like a quaint little not so impressive place, but inside is a chic, sleek, white and silver classy, modern decor. The seating is spacious and comfortable. Their wine list is also quite good - you have the option of having a glass, a carafe or a bottle of many of their selections. There are some unique wines on the menu so a few visits would allow for some fun experimentation. The food is excellent - every time I have gone everyone has enjoyed what they ate. The flavors are well balanced and their pizza is just as good as their tapas. The tuna ceviche is AMAZING! They also have a number of specials every night so you never tire of the menu. A great place for a double or single date. The outside seating area is very nice too - but there are no fans or misters so on a hot evening, plan to be inside!
(5)Mike M.
If you're looking for typical Italian/American fare -- this is your place. While the menu makes a strong effort to look like "authentic" Italian food, in reality it is not. The "buffala mozzarella" is nothing more than typical part-skim mozzarella cheese. The "porcini mushroom" pizza is nothing more than white button mushrooms. And the "parmigiano-reggiano" cheese is a run of the mill parmesan cheese sliced on a deli slicer. Service was very good. The wine list was loaded with wonderful Italian selections. Ambiance was lovely both inside and out. Overall this was a big let down -- just serve what the menu says ... in the end, you're not fooling anyone!!
(2)J H.
Uhh, hello my new favorite restaurant!!! They had me from the second the waiter set a chilled glass of pinot noir on the table! The fried rice ball with mozzarella and tomato sauce are a must-have! The beef carpaccio is excellent! We shared a pizza and a second glass of pinot and that was plenty for the two of us! I gave this a 4 star because the ambiance, service, and food are all great!
(5)Manuela F.
Very nice place clean and comfortable. I give only 3 star because the server was impatient to clean the table and I think the quality of the ingredient is no the best.
(3)lesa m.
food was terrible... pizza not even cooked and the place was so loud could not even here my friend from across the table. i dont know how these other people gave so many stars.. they must have been buzzed.
(1)Candace S.
Had a great dinner here last night. The wait was no big deal considering they don't take reservations. The place had a great atmosphere and the food was delicious! From the meatballs to the Angelo white pizza and the chicken parm. A great way to share and taste a lot of different things and have a fun casual night with friends. The service was fast and professional. I highly recommend trying it out and would absolutely go again!
(5)Bob P.
Loved it! Had mussels and clams appetizer along with Eggplant special.
(4)Douglas C.
Trendy hip and cool would describe the decor. Slightly above average would describe the food. Lackluster would describe the service I encountered. Having wanted to try this place for sometime, now that the snowbirds are gone for the summer, I finally went on Saturday night. The restaurant is cool to say the least. The outdoor patio and indoor space are bright with white being the primary color. I had never been here before and knew that this was a tapas style restaurant but with pizza and some other specials. I really did not know what to expect and was hoping for an explanation from my waitress; that did not happen. A few details; after being seated for about 10 minutes, the hostess asked if our waitress had been by which she had not. The friendly hostess had a waitress at our table in no time, who plainly asked what we wanted. Since this was our first time here, we were hoping for some explanation of the concept of this restaurant, i.e. how big are the pizzas, what do people normally order, what are the portion sizes of the entree specials, etc. This was not done. It was just simply what do you want? That is fine for most restaurants but at one that has a little different format, some introduction should be given. Another small annoyance; almost all the tables were provided bread, however, mine was not. We did not know if it needed to be ordered or what, as the waitress did not explain. Despite the unimpressive service, the food was good, but did not wow me. I had a Caesar salad which was above average with the lettuce being crisp and fresh, and a pizza with burrata, portabella mushrooms, and tomatoes. It was a thicker crust than I was anticipating and the tomato sauce could have had a bit more bite to it, but overall it was a decent consistency and flavor. However, for a gourmet pizza, at this point in time I prefer Panaretto's(this is where Yelp really needs half stars so I can differentiate these two ratings). D'Angelos though, as a restaurant, is a bit more stylish. Complimentary valet is a nice touch. I would come back again, but am in no rush to. Hopefully my next waiter/waitress will be a bit more enthusiastic.

Super hip, modern decor, with a terrific menu. A variety of creative items, along with a killer (and well organized) wine list on the flip side. Everything from octopus carpaccio to wood oven pizza. In addition, they had a number of specials, all of which sounded amazing. Eggplant rollatini with spinach was light and bursting with fresh flavors. Salads are light and they'll even split them in the back for you - a nice touch. The wood oven pizza was awesome - and they have a ton others I'm going to try. Great service, solid food with a creative flair, and a hip look - we will be back!

Wow, what a fantastic experience at D'Angelos. It starts with a great selection of wines and a very well qualified staff to guide you through the selections. The food then ups game, the tapas variety is nice, I especially love the meatballs (both) and the calamari. From there either an amazing pizza or one of the special mains, you can't make a bad choice here. I love the outdoor dining on the patio, although the chic yet casual vibe inside is also a treat. I can't say enough, this place is one of my Fort Lauderdale favorites.

The complimentary Valet parking is a definite plus in this non-existent parking area. The food (although a little pricey) was very good. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. His suggestions were spot on and the food was brought to us in a timely, not rushed manner. The only item I would definitely not order again is the chicken meatballs. The sauce/gravy had no seasoning and tasted like tomato soup from a can. The other 4 entrees were excellent. A must try are the house special french fries. I would have to say that my favorite was the Italian Sausage over escarole and beans. My husband's was the stuffed zucchini. The pizza looked wonderful and we will definitely return to try the pizza out. The server or the hostess should have noticed the child sitting next to us had on no shoes and his FILTHY feet were all over the seating area. This restaurant is worth a try.

First of all, any place that has meats and cheese to choose from, and good ones at that, Im pretty happy with. We got a slew of tapas, for the 4 of us, along with a bottle of red, and a bottle of white. The server was great. Totally on his game! The food was beautiful, colorful and fresh. They were out of the 2 things we wanted most which was the burrata and the zucchini flowers, so that was a little disapointing . I mean, we went at 7pm on a Friday. WHY are you out of food already? The patio is really quaint. Italian music coming from the bushes, gray wrap around couches, brass tikis to keep the bugs away, and its all covered by massive white umbrellas. Over a really nice experience. My Italian speaking, loving friend was happy, and if shes happy with the Italian, Im happy with the Italian.

Osvaldo P. is right on man, I am in full agreement with him. Arancini are creamy and crispy, just heavenly. Bresaola and polpo carpaccio satisfied my cravings. And a stracchino and fig pizza was a great little 'dessert' in the cheese and fruit plate sense. I'm happy to have found D'angelo due to its affordability for a few plates. These ingredients don't come cheap folks, you will have to spend $10 for some bresaola. Seriously, where in the US have we found cheap bresaola? Putting that aside, there were four of us and had a great night outside in the August heat with sampling all around. I cannot wait to return. Grazie!

Absolutely love this place. We have been 3 times this month and it is awesome. From the minute you arrive, the valet is friendly, there is a great vibe and a lot of energy. The staff is always friendly, the food superb and just great ambiance. The salads are amazing, the pizza the best in town and a great wine list. Once again Angelo has done it it top notch. I would highly say, "GO"!!!!! Awesome!!

The ambiance is fine, the service was good. The food is mediocre, they put the accent on pizza, we were hoping more like an Italian restaurant. Anyway, overall it was fine, but nothing extraordinary

Woman and i have planned to visit this spot for some time given the solid reputation of it's owner and the quality of the food, service and ambiance at the old d'angelos restaurant near by. We were disappointed. For architecture, style and ambiance, this place earns a full five bullet rating. For service, a two to three bullet call, and for tastiness, a similar call. We ordered a round robin of appetizers. They looked great, nice portions but the taste was uniformly flat. The wine list is deep. However, I was interested in a Sangiovese but we noted that among the Tuscan Sangiovese choices, there were none representing any of the best Tuscan vineyards. I settled for a $15 glass that was perfectly fine if not pricey and woman was pleased with her choice of a $12 glas of Santa Margurita Pinot. We left, unimpressed. I calculated a flat 15% tip on the pretax bill of $92: Three appetizers, and three glasses of wine, a nice cheesecake for desert, which we shared (mostly, I ate it all) and a black coffee. Valet parking is free if not a little nerve wracking due to the fact that the restaurant uses a parking lot two businesses down, and the valets must back ones car north for a half block in the southbound lane of traffic. Parking is tight for larger automobiles but the valets seem to pull it off. Nice atmosphere, great architecture balances against average service and lackluster taste. Two Bullets and one K-Bar. B3 Out

Very good good but pricey. Great service. I know tapas are small portions but some were tiny. Depends what you order. The calamari, zucchini blossoms and fries were more hearty. But the ceviche and salads were less substantial. The place is cute and the waiters were super nice. Worth a try.

Give me a break!! This place sucks!! Pretentious, Yuppie crowd... Small portions, overpriced, blah.. When we went, they were out of the first 5 things we asked for, I guess that should have been my clue to leave. No parking, right on federal... I mean if you tripped, you would get run over by the traffic... Go to a real place with real food and save your money...

Wonderful atmosphere, great glass of wine, excellent service... the manager was so friendly & and even catered to my custom food order, it was fabulous! I can't ask for anything more. I love this place!!!

This is the cafe version of the highly acclaimed Casa d'angelos.Being on Federal highway and dealing with the noise detracts from the ethereal atmosphere of the white glow and serene setting they have created. Why not put the patio in the back surrounded by uplighting and dense bushes?None the less,a great menu focusing on Italian tapas of sorts. We all had the wood fired pizzas which were nice (i thought mine could have been cooked a minute longer.. the Pugliese( broccoli rabe, burrata and sausage).Ice tea comes in an endless pour, a generous touch in places like this that generally take an appendage with your wallet. This is a place Giorgio Armani would be happy having lunch or a light dinner at .If you want that high end Northern Italian feeling while paying considerable less ,Buonasera!

This one is going to be simple and to the point: Decor = 5 out of 5 Food = 5 out of 5 Service = 5 out of 5 Bar = 5 out of 5 Cleanliness = 5 out of 5 Pizza = 4 out of 5 The place even has complimentary valet which is awesome! The only down side so far is that the Pizza, though it was was good, wasn't up to expectation with the rest of the place. For starters, the crust was not a thin as it should be for thin crust pizza and then we only ordered the margarita to try it, and it had way too much cheese on it. The appetizers, tapas and the salads are absolutely fabulous and I would recommend this place to anyone who's in the mood for great italien food, the verdict is till pending on the pizza which I will be going back for within the month.

Amazing carpoccio!! Inexpensive corkage fee!! Great service and a great menu that allows everyone to sample many things. Fun place to go...highly recommend it!

Back again on a Monday night. Glad to see the food is as good as last visit . Brought in newbies and they really enjoyed the evening. Nice to see familiar faces at the door and bar. My only negative was the bus person (I guess ) who seemed to be rushing our plates away and clearing a empty table next to us with his hands in the dirty glassware. I hope he does not serve food or at least washes his hands. Not as pro as the rest of the staff. Overall another good time. Will be back this winter. Thanks.

Came here with boyfriend for lunch as we were both craving wine and pizza.. Upon entering, I was impressed with the decor and overall vibe of the place. The setting was modern and trendy and the screens showed cooking which I absolutely loved! It is a nice change from sports or news and is quite appetite enticing as well.. The wine was delish, but a little on the pricey end, being $10 per glass! We ordered the octopus carpaccio. Nothing impressive. I am a huge fan of octopus. I found it to be fresh but tiny portion-wise and the accompanying flavors did not compliment the octopus at all. As for the pizza, I am sad to say that I am yet to experience a good pizza in FL as it was below average. The service was also mediocre at best.. After 4 tiny glasses of wine, an app and 2 pizzas the bill came out to $90 which was way too much for lunch. Not a terrible experience but definitely no repeat for me unless they improve their food quality and service.

Fun wine bar w/great food! Free valet parking & it always PACKED even during lunch! Great wine options and several Italian appetizer selections. Pizzas are great! Outdoor patio. Super nice on the inside. A place you can go for lunch and dinner where you can go in shorts or dressed up and not feel out of place. They said on the weekends they have a DJ. Everyone that works here is really friendly and you might even catch Mr. D'Angelo walking around. Can't wait to go back!

First time thete last night. Service was excellent. We oredered soup, tapas, and a couple pizzas. Everything was great. Try the rice balls. Also, make sure you leave room for some of their gellato.

Food was excellent but server was "alright". This was the first time I have eaten at this restaurant. We went with a group of 8 of us for a birthday event at around 9pm, Weds. We ordered pizzas ,a whole bunnch of tapas, and some bottles of wine. The food tasted great! I even brought home a salmon carpacio for my wife , and she said it tasted fresh and terrific as well. The only down side was the waiter, he was "ok". For this type of place he should of been more attentive. I noticed that there was not that much water being served. He came twice with Pelligrino and thats it. 2-3 bottles of Pelligrino is really not enough for 8 people. He should of least offered tap water or something. Additionally, at the beginning I thought everybody was going to split the check, so i had secretly asked the waiter if he can seperate my check from teh others. This will prevent anybody paying for my food, vice versa. He immediatly said he might not be able to do it (which is not true, he can do it , but he was lazy) and his facial expressions were a little rude. While eating I then told him to put everything together because somebody in the table was offering to pay for the whole tab. Would I come eat here again? Maybe i would, the food was pretty good, but the waiter was "ok". At the end though our tab was around $500 so he got tipped around $100. He then was nice because we were leaving and left him a nice tip.

Yummy selection of wine, cheese and tapas. Nice location with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat by the cases of cheeses which was fun to help pick out what you wanted. We will go back.
